With a 36mm PGM-FI (Programmed fuel injection), and four stroke, 16V, liquid cooled, 781cc, 90degree, VTEC, V4 engine; firing up the Interceptor is like firing up two engines. Its revolutionary design allows the engine to switch over, from two valves to four, when the rpm clicks over 6400. The four valve operation optimizes horsepower at high rpm’s, while two-valve running increases torque at low rpm’s. Perfect. .. Open her up, and side mounted radiators kick in for optimized cooling. But, when she’s ticking over at low speeds, a thermostatically controlled fan sucks cool air across the radiator, keeping heat away from the rider. The fuel injection is also auto enriched, optimizing the air fuel mix, which means no manual choke. Not even on a cold start.

The Interceptor is available with an anti lock braking system. Standard models have a combined, linked braking system, with dual discs on the back, and a single on the front. The interceptor has an incredible smooth six speed, manual transmission. Plus, a three phase coil damper, which delivers seamlessly smooth up-shifts. The Honda Interceptor has an all aluminum chassis and a Honda exclusive, Pro-Arm® swing-arm. The single side swing arm has been designed for easy access, as well as to be ultra strong.
