Honda 919 Motorcycle Parts & Information

The Honda 919 Motorcycle is one of those bikes that fits in, just about anywhere. Cruising the open road, or indulging in a bit of Sunday Sports, the Honda 919 is rarely out of sync. Probably, why it has become such a popular bike. As well as, it’s a lot of ride for the money. The engine on the Honda 919 Motorcycle is a virtual ‘copy cat’ of Honda’s 1998, CBR900.

However, the more modest, 36mm, cams on the Honda 919 keep the power focused during lower rpm’s. And, also help to accommodate Honda’s advanced PGM-FI system. The Honda 919 has six speed transmission, and a liquid-cooled, transverse, inline, 4-stroke four engine. The 919cc displacement engine has a DOHC valve arrangement, 4 valves per cylinder, shim-under-bucket adjustment.

While the engine may give many Americans a case of ‘déjà vu’, the chassis won’t be quite so familiar. Although outside the US, the basic layout, of this particular chassis, is mirrored on the 600 Hornet. The steel frame on the Honda 919 is mostly hidden by slick aluminium plates. The frame connects the swingarm and the steering head via a singular, rectangular backbone. The 919 has a 43mm non-adjustable cartridge fork suspension on the front, and a spring preload-adjustable single shock absorber on the back. Cast alloy, 17 inch wheels, with a 120/70-ZR17 Michelin Hi Sport up front, and a 180/55-ZR17 on the back, provide incredible grip.

The Honda 919 has exceptionally light and precise steering, accommodating those rolling whoops easily, in comparison to some of the Sports Bikes around. The Honda 919 is at it’s happiest when it’s being thrown from side to side! The 919 also has a powerful brake system; having two, four-piston callipers, with 296mm discs, on the front, and a single-piston calliper, 240mm disc on the rear. Instruments include the mandatory speedo, turn signals, neutral and high beam lights. Plus, a low oil pressure and temperature gauge, fuel injection warning, tachometer and a LCD odometer/tripmeter. Getting started is easy, push the button and the Honda 919 is ready at waiting. The styling of the Honda 919 Motorcycle pretty much, exactly what you expect a bike in it’s class to be….Bad Ass.. Who can resist? Twisting the Honda 919’s 485lbs mass through traffic is too easy. Commute on this, and you will arrive with a bad boy grin, that tells everyone you’ve been having way too much fun. Especially for a weekday.
